Results PT in Sherman Oaks, CA

I was 30 years old when I purchased Results Personal Training. It was actually on my birthday when I signed the contract, jokingly saying that it was my birthday present to myself. During my ownership, the economy experienced several downturns, causing many fitness businesses to go bankrupt. From the 2008 housing market bubble crash to other economic challenges, culminating with the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous businesses across all industries in Los Angeles and the entire United States went under.

However, Results did not. As I approach the 20-year mark since acquiring Results, I am reflecting on the strategies that transformed Results into a landmark in Sherman Oaks, CA. One thing I didn’t do was go to school to learn business management or anything related to owning and operating a business. In fact, I didn’t even attend college in the US or have any formal education that taught me how to run a business. There are three key practices I followed and continue to follow that have allowed me to maintain a thriving operation:

1. Genuine Connections Over Sales: My approach isn’t about pushing memberships; it’s about understanding and helping each client. Selling takes a backseat to authentic connections. People crave authenticity, and that’s what we offer. By focusing on building trust and rapport, we create lasting relationships that go beyond mere transactions. This approach not only leads to client retention but also fosters a positive word-of-mouth reputation, bringing in new clients organically.

2. Customer-Centric Philosophy: Our towel service is more than a convenience; it’s a testament to putting clients first. Small gestures, such as handing a client a water cup when it’s most needed, reflect our dedication. In my eyes, clients own the business, and my role is to ensure their satisfaction. This philosophy extends to every aspect of our services, from maintaining a clean and welcoming environment to offering personalized workout plans tailored to each client’s goals and needs. By consistently exceeding expectations, we create loyal customers who become our biggest advocates.

3. Equitable Treatment of Staff: Treating everyone with respect fosters a positive work environment. At Results, we aren’t just employees; we’re a cohesive team striving for excellence. Happy trainers lead to happy clients, ensuring mutual success. We prioritize professional development and provide opportunities for growth, empowering our staff to deliver their best performance. By valuing and investing in our team, we create a culture of collaboration and innovation that sets us apart in the industry.

My journey began as an immigrant yearning for community — a sentiment I replicate in my business. Every client and trainer is welcomed and treated as family, mirroring the warmth I sought upon arriving in the US. Acquiring Results Personal Training in 2006 was more than a business venture; it was an opportunity to meet people and develop relationships that would make me feel at home. I treat every customer and every trainer that crosses my doors like I wanted to be treated when I first came to the US, with open arms.

If you asked me what the secret of my success is, I would answer, “I don’t know what I am doing.” I wake up every morning excited to see who else is going to cross my doors. I look at every customer and trainer as someone who can change my life in a positive way. That makes me excited to go to work and give my best.

In this ever-evolving journey, I continue to learn and grow alongside Results, embracing each challenge as an opportunity to excel. Here’s to the next chapter of growth, fueled by passion, integrity, and the belief that genuine connections can transform businesses and lives.
