Stop being your limitations’ defense lawyer.

Please excuse my long post. Having witnessed many cases where people subconsciously sabotage their goals, I cannot keep quiet anymore. Do the opposite, and I guarantee you’ll increase your chances of success.

Here it is. THREE STEPS to move forward and closer to your goals:

1) STOP TELLING THE WORLD ALL ABOUT YOUR SHORTCOMINGS.

As a performance and transformational coach for over two decades, I have noticed some fascinating behaviors. As soon as people start moving, they start talking about everything wrong with them.

“I’m so weak” is one of the most common statements. “I’m out of shape” or “I can’t do it” are also very popular. While we might not be physically or mentally where we want, let’s not forget that we all have some strengths and are in some kind of physical shape.

However, no one rushes to mention strengths and qualities while there’s no shortage of faults and limitations.

We all know emotions are energy in motion. As soon as we start exercising, we start feeling. We release energy throughout the movement while we create new energy.

All the physical and emotional trauma you have experienced throughout your life is stored in your body.

Exercising is critical for toning and building physical strength. It is also one of the few tools for shifting our energy from stagnant and full of negative self-belief to new, vibrant positivity. Engage in regular physical activities to replace self-doubt with confidence and strength.

2) STOP DEFENDING YOUR LIMITATIONS.

I swear, I feel like everyone I meet is their limitations’ best defense lawyer. Most people put a good amount of effort into bringing forth evidence and data to support their negative self-beliefs.

On top of that, most of these beliefs are not even true. So, stop spreading lies about yourself.

What you focus on grows. Therefore, if you think you are weak, you are right. If you think you are fat, you are right again. If you believe that you are not good enough, again, you are right.

Let it go. Instead of working so hard on defending your limitations, put the same amount of work into creating positive self-beliefs.

Most people have felt weak, out of shape, inadequate, and not good enough for so long that they have become comfortable with feeling weak, inadequate, out of shape, and not good enough. For many, feeling strong and confident is foreign and uncomfortable.

Remember, defend your assets, not your liabilities.

3) STOP LISTENING TO YOURSELF.

We are born special and unique. There’s no one like you in this world. Every negative thought you have has been put in your head by someone else.

We start forming our opinions of ourselves as children and teens. Our parents, caretakers, and peers play a crucial role in our development. Our relationships with others and ourselves are a direct result of our childhood and how we choose to feel as adults.

I’ve seen a lot of 15-year-olds that seem like they are in their 30s or 40s. I’ve met plenty of 40-year-olds that act like they’re in their 50s or 60s. Some of these individuals are also, on another level, just hurt children, longing for some love.

Since childhood, we’ve been collecting evidence and data to defend our false narrative instilled in us by others, who often don’t have our best interests at heart.

If we don’t do diligent work to change who we are and how we feel, nothing will change.

Listen to a different voice other than the ones in your head. If you don’t like where you’re heading, follow a different path. If you don’t like how you look and feel, do something different.

Bottom line — speak only about your good qualities and brag only about your victories. That’s what we want to hear and love about you. That’s what you want the world to know.

Let your enemy promote and defend your limitations, not you.

Listen to the voice that lifts you up and only walk the path to strength and confidence.

Every day is very precious. Don’t waste any time. “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough” (Mae West).

Thank you, and God Bless.
